Just back from a week on the Costa Del Sol - who should I bump into (almost literally on the moving walkway! lol) at Malaga Airport, only Gillian and Jayne!!! A fabulous surprise. Had a really good week and some fabulous shopping opportunities. Reflections on Tour!!! :)

Hi,i think gillian has said it all really.the change room is now well on the way,and mary(my soulmate)and i donated time and goods in order that those who are less fortunate at being able to change at home can now have somewhere to take their time to put on the glams and become en femme.we hope people will look after these facilities and not spoil it for others.i will hopefully be there for the next meeting,see you therexx julia marie sparks.

Julie and I spent thursday 19th working at the Duke of York. We now have the beginnings of our very own changing facilities. Thanks to Julie we have a free standing mirror, and a work top where we can apply makeup. She also wired in new frorescent main light and some dressing table lights over the wall mirror. I paid for the florecent light and the wall mirror and also repaired the door so it now closes properly. Julie paid for the standing mirror and donated a day of her time as an electrician. I spent about £40 which I cannot afford so hope that everyone puts something into a pot! Next I will paint and decorate the room with paint supplied by Derby Friend. I have also cleaned the room and hope that everyone who uses it will keep it clean and tidy. The end result will be a nice place to make up and where we can leave coats and bags whilst we relax. We also have a clean spacious loo!!!

hi everyone, We have finallised agreement with the management for the sole use( nearly) of the disabled toilet to convert it to a dressing room for our use. The room will remain locked when not in our use or the use of disabled people and the key will remain behind te bar. This means we can produce a really special place for te girls to change and use a nice clean loo. We need donations of the following items if poss and in the mean time i will go on the scrounge. Some form of dressing table, sets of coat hangers, a nice chair for te dressing table, a mirror for makeup. We will also need pink paint, cream paint and silver if we can. I would like to make this special for us to make ours evenings even better. I can do most of the work and Julie is an electrician. Anyone else that wishes to help would be most welcome!

racheal sent this note to the groups email address Hi I'm coming to definitly coming to Derby on friday for the 'divine' event at Curzons I will probably try a couple of the gay pubs in the area, which ones would you reccommend or advise me to avoid. I'm going to be staying at the Heitage hotel in Macklin St, and as it is near to the Duke of York I would plan a future trip to come to reflections probably on 13th october . As I work shifts and have different days of on certain weeks I plan all my nights out as Rachel in different places according to my roster and the events calender. As you know I get to outskirts about every 6-8 weeks I also go to Leeds on the first friday of each month using leave days and aso go to Manchester Concord every 3 weeks when I have a wednesday and thursday off. It might be nice to head to other pubs on occasion, but I think the "safe haven" for the regular meetings is a must especially for the more nervous girls. Its a big step for a lot of people and so the Duke of York is a good starting point.

Hi, we haven't been there long so we need a period of settled meetings before we start considering another move. There are things against using a straight pub but I will discuss it if the demand is there. If we can get all the girls there on a regular basis we would have thirty +. As it is we virtually took over the pub heehee!!!
On another note we have had donated a girls entire wardrobe in size 14/16 and shoes in size 7. There are also stockings and undersets( all are washed or new) If you want to browse then let me know.

Well...for those who were'nt there - a brill night on Monday. I 'think' 18 ladies attended.
Good conversation and a variety of situations represented.
I have a personal suggestion ( please respond). Currently, with customers are in short supply ( us ), maybe we have more choices. Anyone have views on me finding a 'user friendly' straight pub ? I have one or two in mind. Suggestions as to a generally more convenient location for everyone to reach would be good.
Anyone interested - or are you happy to stay in a Gay place ?

Called in at the WIG shop in Elton Rd this morning ( was passing anyway).It's owned by an Asian guy...who is cool with Trans girls. ALL the stock is hair products...and wigs...some real hair , some synthetic....very good prices. They have lace front wigs..which show a nice realistic hairline. He can provide a private place for you to try wigs on...just ask. It's certainly worth a visit - even if you are just looking.
There are NO hairdressing facilities..no styling...just products to purchase.

Another note on Wigs...'Headlines' in the Market place are VERY trans friendly ( friends of mine) Mandy is in on Sat mornings 10 -2..she is perfectly OK with us girls and will lock the doors if u prefer...you can try wigs and she will help with styling. Although I haven't been to the group since it's first meeting I did speak to Nat last monday and so I knew about the 'disappointment' Gillian experienced at Pride. As a friend I know how much effort she puts into these things and can understand why she wrote what she did but I just wanna say... 1. I agree with Pennys comments and 2. G...don't give up on Reflections ..it's a brill idea and given a little more time it will flourish..... but only if the members take a more active role...rem girls the more u put in the more u will get out !!

well it was a sunny day at Derby Goes Pink and I have ear-ache. The down side was apart from Yvonne and penny we did not see any of the girls from Reflections. Noone was interested in the bits and bobs we had for sale so they will now go to the charity shop as I am not storing them indefinately. Thats an interesting thought, however the reverse is also true. We should be pleased that they are willing to welcome us there so that we can go out and relax as girls together. Its a symbiotic relationship, we provide them with custom they provide us with somewhere to go. Hi Girls, back now with a new arsenal of hosiery!! I did not but any clothes this time but this was made up for by Debs buying enough for both of us.
