About Us ...
Welcome to Reflections Derby. We are a social group based in Derby. We aim to provide help and friendship for all involved in the transgender community, including friends and family. We have close connections with other groups in the Midlands, and hope to provide a safe, comfortable and interesting environment in which our members can relax in the gender of their choice. The group is run by the members and they are the voice of the group. A small number of volunteers see to the day to day running of the group.
Please feel free to browse the Reflections site and voice your opinions. We would be pleased to add your picture to the gallery , but do remember this is an open site.
If a pub meeting is not your thing or you do not yet have the confidence to go out in public, then we also have an alternative for you to consider. We run a monthly meeting in a private location, where there is tea, coffee, biscuits and chat as well as help and support. This venue is not advertised, but email us or talk to us on the helpline and we will give you the details.

there seems to be some confusin about where the meeting is as the Union Blue has remained open. I do not want to keep changing things so having moved to the Duke of York we will leave it there and make that our new home.

Thats an interesting thought, however the reverse is also true. We should be pleased that they are willing to welcome us there so that we can go out and relax as girls together. Its a symbiotic relationship, we provide them with custom they provide us with somewhere to go. As long as we do our best to be good guests and they do thier bit to be good hosts there is no need for anything further. See you all there xxxxx

Perhaps then they could show us their appreciation as our hosts by welcoming our presence with a nice drink courtesy of their gratitude that we have decided to grace the venue with our presence.

Hi everyone
Last nights meetng was a quiet affair with only 10 girls there but was lively and fun at he same time. At least one, Sarah had flu, ( she hadn't been to mexico, i checked!!!)one is on holiday and that combined with light nights and really horrid weather meant the pub was quiet.
I have also spoken to Chris, the landlord about moving one meeting to a different day of the week and there is no problem with that. I will let you all know but any preferences would be useful.
On a different note Chris does a sunday lunch at the Duke of yourk and we are organising a two for one for t girls. Anyone interested???
I am away from Thursday for a few days but will be back in time forte next meeting.

Hi all. Despite there being a meeting on the 13th April it was disappointing to find that only myself and one other girl attended, I suppose with it being Bank Holiday I should not have been surprised. Still, it was a chance to get outand enoy the company of at least one other otherwise I would have ended up looking like a pretty desperate wallflower in need of some careful attention.

hi girls, I hve been informed that there will be a bank holiday karaoke on monday as its bank hols. You are welcome to go but it wil be noisier and busier than we are used to. I have also been informed that the Union Blue is to close around the 20th May. We will relocate the meetings to the Duke of York and more details will be posted when I get back. Please keep an eye on the site and i will give full details and directions as soon as I get back on Tuesday. Have a great holiday and do n't eat to many eggs!!!

Reflections Venue
The Duke of York is a T friendly pub on Burton Road, Derby. Here you will find a warm friendly atmosphere with only background music, so talking is not drowned out. Being T friendly means that other events at the premises are open to us if required.
Our meeetings are on the 2nd and 4th Mondays from 8pm onward. There are changing facilities if needed, and car parking outside is free. If you are unsure about entering alone we are happy to come and walk in with you.
well it was a sunny day at Derby Goes Pink and I have ear-ache. The down side was apart from Yvonne and penny we did not see any of the girls from Reflections. Noone was interested in the bits and bobs we had for sale so they will now go to the charity shop as I am not storing them indefinately. Because of the lack of interest i will re-evaluate the direction of my involvement with the group. The situation requires a rethink and suggestions are welcome.
